60 Days In: My Personal Reflections on Running a Muslim Clothing Brand

Salaam, sisters! May Allah send you abundant blessings this Ramadan and beyond.

It's been quite a ride since we launched Muminy 60 days ago. Alhamdulllilah we made it this far. As I sit down to reflect on this journey, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude mixed with a pinch of nostalgia. Starting Muminy with my husband has been nothing short of an adventure—one filled with highs, lows, and lots of learning along the way.

When we first set out on this path, we didn't fully understand what challenges we'd have in front of us. We simply saw a gap in the market and felt compelled to fill it. As a Muslim woman living in North America and Europe, I wanted a prayer dresses that was both practical and elegant, yet affordable. So, we took a leap of faith and dove headfirst into the world of modest fashion!

But let me tell you, starting a fashion brand isn't easy. We've had our fair share of challenges, from figuring out manufacturing to managing our online store. There have been late nights and stressful days, but through it all, we've stayed true to our vision.

Our dream is simple: to offer Muslim women clothing that aligns with our values while exuding timeless style. It's a dream that keeps us going, even when the going gets tough. And along the way, we've been blessed with unwavering support from our sisters. Every order, every word of encouragement—it all fuels our passion and reminds us why we started this journey in the first place.

I'll never forget the advice someone once gave me: keep your intentions pure for the sake of Allah swt, and He will send blessings upon what you do. It's something I remind myself of everyday, and hold dear to my heart, especially in the hardest times. It's a reminder that Muminy isn't just a business venture—it's a labor of love, driven by a desire to make a difference in the Muslim garment industry.

As we celebrate our 60th day, I can't help but feel a sense of joy for how far we've come, all thanks to Allah. Sure, there are challenges ahead, but with every obstacle comes an opportunity to grow and evolve.

We've already expanded our catalogue to include one-piece instant hijabs, and we have big plans to add even more exciting modest garments. Think casual wear, hoodies, sports wear—all designed with Muslim women in mind. The best is yet to come, In Sha Allah!
